Re: Odin Abgebrannt
I'm done with the subject, but if there is more you want to argue and settle, then there is no issue here in the diagram. It's just showing that there is a diode and capacitor in the output of any basic topology, that is all it is showing.
No it does not show direct mains connection. It is an obviously incomplete schematic, showing key concepts.
It only says "AC input", which could be the 50Hz input from any isolator transformer of any step-down ratio (as I said previously) or it could be a higher frequency from a secondary switching circuit itself.
These are just schematics showing that there exists a diode and a capacitor in the output stage.
In the absence of a fuse built into the charger's output then there is a risky single point failure mode.
^That is my single point I am making.
The other text is just explaining why I am saying that. It's really not contentious.

I disagree. I am thankful for the technical details that will get lost in translation. And english is lingua franca.

Re: Ladegeräte (Englischssprachige Diskussion aus dem Odin Abgebrannt Thread)
I think we all agree that the diode at the secondary site of the charger might be a point of failure... but not the single one.
Not only that diodes might break, the electrolytic capacitors may cause a shortcut too.
Or simply the (charging) cable, nagged by a mouse or a hamster.
And in such a scenario the protection of the BMS might not really help.
The BMS inside our E-Odin battery only switches off if the current exceeds 150A for a few seconds, that's a point where the "tiny" wiring between battery and charging port might already is glowing red and the raising conductance of the hot wire already reached a point where the current just dropped below the switch-off current. So the wiring may keep glowing...
I strongly recommend to add a 40 or 63A fuse (or automatic circuit breaker) into the wiring to the charging port.
It may not avoid all possible failures, but it increases the safety of our bike.

Re: Ladegeräte (Englischssprachige Diskussion aus dem Odin Abgebrannt Thread)
I am not scared about those catastrophic scenarios, otherwise I would not install 40A charger into the "gas" tank, but it is true that anything could happen (vibrations and impacts on electronic in the charger), wires could melt down when overloaded etc. so Jeff has a good point, automatic circuit breaker is a good safety element, so I will think about adding right two of them - one for factory charging socket, one between the charger and controller (and later one for type 2 socket).jeff-jordan hat geschrieben: ↑Mi 25.
